JLC Holiday Workshops

Join our team of professional tutors in 50-minute workshops full of fast-paced, fun activities.  Work in groups of six per tutor in the breakout rooms, to ensure plenty of opportunities to speak and receive personalised feedback.

Introduction to Debate & Public Speaking Skills (Summer Holiday Club)

Join our team of professional tutors for fast paced, highly interactive challenges to develop debate and public speaking skills. We have a maximum of six students per tutor in the breakout rooms for plenty of individual feedback:

Workshop One: We isolate underlying debating skills and develop these with games and role-plays.

Workshop Two: We look at certain types of debate questions and what these involve – learning to break down and analyse them, anticipate counter arguments and structure points.

Workshop Three: We focus on manner of delivery, with feedback on structure, voice tone, pace and body language.

Introduction to JLC Core Skills

Join our team of professional tutors for some fast paced, highly interactive challenges to develop the key transferable skills of a lawyer. We have a maximum of six students per tutor in the breakout rooms for plenty of individual feedback.

Workshop One: We focus on the skills to build arguments and put points forward clearly and concisely.

Workshop Two: We focus on critical thinking and advocacy skills, including delivery of points.

Workshop Three: We focus on problem solving, questioning assumptions and using language effectively.

JLC Bronze Silver and Gold Awards

Bronze Awards

You will receive an email invitation to attend Bronze Awards once you have completed three levels of our JLC programme. The Bronze Award involves giving a presentation to demonstrate competence in public speaking and presentation skills.

Silver Awards

You will receive an invitation to attend Silver Award once you have completed six levels of our JLC programme. The Silver Award involves demonstrating competence in advocacy and critical thinking skills.

Gold Awards

This represents the highest level of achievement. To attain Gold you will be expected to have finished the ten completion levels of the programme and you will need to demonstrate knowledge of the substantive topics covered in our programme, as well as completing tasks involving leadership, teamwork, problem solving and creative and critical thinking.

Once you complete the required number of workshops, you will be invited to take the JLC Silver Award, to demonstrate competency in a range of advocacy skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of terminology.  More dates are added each month, with further dates in August to come.

Once you have completed ten levels of the programme, you will be invited to take the JLC Gold Award.  This involves a number of challenges including  creative thinking, problem solving and innovation.  New dates are added each month, with further dates in August to come.

Once you have completed the Award we will email you a copy of your report and certificate.  If you would also like a hard copy of the certificate, please complete the order form.  Certificates will arrive within approximately 3-4 weeks.
